Cool, nice to know those can be duplicated if necessary. I see that company states they will not do plates for late model motor vehicles and will turn inquiries over to law enforcement. I wonder what they consider "late model".

I don't know but around the VJMOG, I think it is anything over 1978. Smile

Using;

Dupli-Color Perfect Match Filler/Primer

Bondo Glazing Putty

Dupli-Color Perfect Match (Med. Maui Blue Metallic Old GM color) Acrylic Lacquer. Long story.....but I wound up with six 8 oz. cans of the stuff for 'a song'.

NOS CMSNL parts arrived a few hours ago....

Smile

Those six engine mount bushings will go in my original crankcase. The crankcase in the T500 now is a spare I had. I've gotten all but one of the old bushings out of the original case....that was fun Rolling Eyes ....you can't just press them out. New ones are suppose to go in pretty easy if you put them in a freezer for awhile first.

Don't wait until you go to a nursing home to finish it. Hell you won't remember how it goes together!

EDIT: I had mentioned earlier that I had been nursing this sidecover along for years. Reproduction side covers were not readily available then. Here is a very old pic I just found. What it use to look like. 'Stitch' holes drilled and JB Weld laid over the inside. One small hole drilled at the top to stop the 'runaway' crack. That repair only lasted a couple of years. Melting the cracks together more recently with a soldering wand and adding a two part epoxy with a washer embedded in it to strengthen the knob stem hole was a great improvement............now if this newly painted, now spare, side cover doesn't suddenly self destruct, Shocked I'll be happy.

Looking a little better than the stage where they were at above, with some tips from Paul and by me being a little more aggressive with the Dupli-color paint and clear coat.

I'll hand buff them with a little Meguiars mild polishing compound in a few days and work on the emblems.

Like I said, just spare body parts, each of them had its own issue, so I'm happy with the way they are right now. I still need to do the spare fuel tank but it needs sealing also.

I'll leave my original body set to the professionals to restore to their original glory.

Wow! That's a delicious treat for the eyes, and I'll bet it runs great too.
