I'VE NOTICED RECENTLY ON MY '82 GS750 THERE IS A DISTINCTIVE RATTLE TINNY SOUND FROM THE ENGINE AT LOW RPMS, AS SOON AS I GET ON THE THROTTLE IT DISSAPPEARS, THERE IS NO LOSS OF POWER AND IT RUNS FINE THRU ALL GEARS, ITS A CLEAN MACHINE WITH 15K MILES, I'VE BEEN RIDING IT ALL SUMMER,PUT ABOUT 2K MILES ON IT, OIL STILL LOOKS NEW, PLUGS ARE GOOD, MAYBE IT NEEDS VALVE ADJUSTMENT? ITS AN ANNOYING , YET SUTTLE RATTLE FROM LEFT SIDE OF ENGINE, ALMOST LIKE ROCKS IN A CAN RATTLE. PLEASE HELP!
I guessing here..... Timing chain... Even though it's located in the middle of the engine its possible that is what you are hearing. Anything else that I can think of would get worse as the RPM's go up...
