Hello all! I will have to replace my tires (30 years old!) and I am surprised to see how hard it is to find an equivalent size. Original sizes are 3.00 S18 and 3.50 S18. I would like to know which brand/model/size will actually fit. I once bought scooters tires (again, over 35 years old) and I found out the hard way that the theory does not always work in the real world: they were so tight that the chain was rubing badly on the side.
Also, would a modern thread be better than the classic one I have now?

Thank you for reading!

Welcome to the site. Just go to home page & click on Hondarestoration..go to tech tips.. then tire chart. Looks like you have to narrow it to your exact yr.model, 'cause there's a couple different variations.good luck & good riding.650bill

I just put 2 Dunlop D404 18/3.50 and they are great

On a 1976 CJ360T

They had a classic tread tire, for 10 bucks less, but I did not know the manufacturer and tires are quite important.

650bill, did you mean to say that I should go to the Hondarestoration.com site and go to their go to tech tips section and from there click on the link "KG Motorcycle Tires & Accessories" and then "Click Here to Convert Inches to Metric" to find the right size?
If that is the case, I just wanted to confirmt from somebody's experience which specific models would actually fit because based solely on the "measurements" it appears that they vary from one manufacturer to another.

1976mike, I checked on http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/tirecatalog_tire.asp?id=37 and list their tires in metric. Do I understand you chose 110/90-18 for the front and back or did you manage to fit a 120/90-18 in the back? Would it be too much to ask what is written on your tire's walls(I find I don't have much clearance between the tire and the chain)?

Also, 1976mike, do you remember what model has the classic thread you were talking about?

I would like to thank you guys for your inputs, I am new to motorcycling and don't want to make a stupid mistake and your opinions are all very appreciated!

A nice day to all!
