That is a good question. Here goes, in my opinion. Hmm..25 years old are 1982 bikes, 20 years old are up to 1987 bikes. I am going to say that 20 years or older are considered vintage motorcycles for purposes of this forum. That puts bikes like the 1985 Yamaha V-Max in, 1986 Yamaha Fazer, 1984 Honda Nighthawk S, GL1200's, etc. Hope this is suitable for this forum. I think it will be just fine. Any opinions?? It is hard to please all of the people all of the time.

Sounds good to me Steve. It will also include the up and comming classics.
I think low production numbers and special editions become classic sooner then the average M/C. Really though i think you need 25 years to begin to call a bike vintage, classic begins 15-20 years. thats just my opinion.

"Classic" is good. This forum is for vintage and classic japanese motorcycles. Flexibility is the key. When did the first Katana come out??

I'm actually a fan of the V-Max, it's just so damn fast. Not much handling in the twisties though, a cruiser to the core.

I had a 73 z 1, beautiful orange and brown metalic paint. Man that was a hot rod. Not much on handling. I also had a 77gs 750. Now that bike picked up were the Kaw left off. dohc two valver sure, but it was lighter and handled like a dream. I whipped a lot of bikes with that suzi. The biggest surprize for me was my 78 b1 650 kaw. Mister, that little piece was a rocket. I smoked the v4 sabres and a shit load of 650-750 class bikes. It was one hell of a wheelie bike. I liked that suzuki so much I bought two more. 78 and 79. I always wanted a gs 1000. Mind you, I have had alot of Hondas and shall continue to. Not to say I wouldn't buy a classic non Honda.

"my carbs suck"," my engine is making a funny noise"," my petcock is dripping", "my dog keeps humping my leg" [no, wait, thats another site.]. nice to see the usual suspects all collected in one spot.

Back in the day I had a '76 Kaw 900 and a friend bought one of those '78 Kaw 650's. He rode alot 2 up and boy, did that 650 do a great job! He could ride up with me all day. I've told people about them ever since.
