Hopefully Manonbike gets this request.

OK so I have the 8mm X 30mm allen head set screw. After filing, if I'm correct, you end up with a bolt that has smooth surface 7mm in diameter by 7mm in length at the oppsite end of the allen head. So there is 23mm of thread still on the bolt? Yes?

After I removed the 10mm hex plug, I measure 10 mm of thread length that currently pushes on the end of the springs. This would give me only 3mm of thread in the hole with the springs. I can only assume I will have to screw it much deeper to put tension on the springs.

Why even bother to file down the bolt unless the internal threads bottom out before the correct tension is applied.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated and if you ever find yourself in Michigan all the pints are on me. Thanks.

I am hoping someone has either tried this or has something similar for the 750/900.

Anyone?
