Been trying to post this response and im being told
im attacking the site!!!
I wouldnt know how.....
Here is the post....Im trying to put it into the lounge / flip up modular thread.
Some pointers for ya......
There is yet to be a modular produced / sold in the USA that is Snell approved......
They are all DOT only.
Arai helmets Myths.
Arai helmets are unlike ANY other helmet out there.
There are 4 different shapes,You CANNOT just look at a design and say,Yea,Thats me,You can
be in the right size but if the shape is wrong your gonna suffer(Headaches / too loose / Helmet moving
around at speed etc........)
Motorcycle dealers here suck to be honest,We fail(imo) to educate our customers,Its especially critical when
it comes to your head......
That being said,I still dont undestand the guy whom will drop $10k on a bike,Research the bike for months
in advance and then spend <5minutes selecting a helmet,This is the one part of your body that is hard
to repair / heal......
So,Arai.
4 Basic shapes / Models - These will fit you differently......
Arai Profile series:Has a long Oval shape
Arai RX7 Corsair:Has an intermediate oval shape
Arai Vector series:Has a Relaxed round shape
Arai Quantum series:Has a round shape
Ok,So now we have mass confusion,Well - Not really.
Theres an easy way of doing this,From the start,Make sure that you have an accurate head
measurement or get the dealer to measure your head,From here your gonna understand size
wise where your at.
If your a clear medium,No probs,A clear large? No probs,Some people however are on the
upper side of a Medium / Or the lower side of a large,IE,They are borderline.
In this instance,A lil playing around is required......Either way,No problem.
So,If we have a basic idea of our head size,We can go onwards
Start off by selecting the 3 key shapes,And select them in the size you need,For example:
(assumes your a LARGE)
Pull of the shelf,One PROFILE / One Quantum / One Vector - All in a LARGE size.
We omit the RX7 for a number of reasons,One is that is a $700+ helmet whereas the
others are avg $450,We also omit this helmet as its real close fit(transitionally to the profile / Vector)
So,Now we have 3 arai helmets in large,The profile / Quantum /Astral.
The way to go here is to try on the two extremes,The differences here guys are subtle so you have
to make this as clear as is possible for yourselves.
First try on your large profile
Sit and think about how it fits YOUR HEAD,Forget how your cheeks are! Pads are removeable so the
cheeks are an easy fit,You have to fit YOUR HEAD!
Remove the profile and take it off.
Now try the large Quantum
One of these will feel way better than the other,For the most part one will actually feel weird.....
If ya cant tell these helmets apart then your in the wrong size!
Go back and forwards between the Profile / Quantum,Given a few minutes you should be able
to eliminate one.......
Lets assume we eliminate the Profile,We are left with the Quantum.
We now bring back the Vector into the equation.
The fit between these two will be real close and you will need to sit and think about
what / how your head feels......Get ready to be patient.
Try the helmets on back to back,I like to ask my customers to walk around in them for
a few minutes,One of these will be close,The other will be perfect......
Hopefully,You should be able to select the winner!
I hope that this has helped a lot of you guys,Arai helmets save lives.Ill fitting arai helmets,Ill fitting
any helmets will do nothing for ya.......Dont be conned into thinking its a $500 and it will save your a$$ -
It has to fit and simply selecting the fancy colored one doesnt mean that it fits!
Feel free to email / pm / call me if ya need more help!

My Arai helmet gives me head and bad neck aches. So bad are they that I have to take Vicodin after a ride to relieve the pain. The price tag was $720.00 and I paid $420.00, it was a waste of money.
I now wear a $100.00 Rodia modular helmet and it fits my head better than the Arai does and does not cause head or neck aches. And I thought the Arai fit my head perfectly too, it does not. _________________ Ray #1
