Just to say hi to everyone. I have been a bike enthusiast for years. First ride was a Yamaha DT250, a 1974 I believe, good bike to learn on, I had some friends who had a camp in Cook forest (PA) and learned to beat through the woods at insane speeds. One of the guys had a Z900 (1976) he wanted to get rid of so I picked it up for cruising the streets. A little more than I needed with a Kerker and 'bout 1134 cc rework in it. I learned about maintaining bikes with the DT & the Z and ended up picking up a GL1000 basket case. Built the GL, had it for a couple of years and ended up selling it and the Z when I got married a little over twenty years ago. At the same time I traded the DT for a Suzuki 350 which I sold to a friend of a friend. About 13-14 years ago an uncle of mine offered me a CL72 which he had picked up for his kids but none of them had much interest, they were more interested in cars, so I trucked it home with the intent of redoing it somewhat and using for a rider. Well, I have finally gotten around to getting to it but needed to pull the tranny out to see why it skips every other gear, seems to have 2nd, 4th and neutral. Meanwhile I have picked up various new and used parts, stripped it down the frame and nearly have the motor out. I got involved with the 305forum, and now this forum, and just seem to be having a good time taking my time on this project. I hope to be making it down to Mid-Ohio next week to really get a feel for the following on these vintage bikes. Again, just a hello and an introduction...

Hello and welcome to our forum splitenz. Say weren't they a rock group from the eighties? Do you think they will ever make your Hall in Cleveland? Honda CL72 is a great bike, you will have fun with it. Of all the bikes I have restored my CB77 is the one I would most like to have back. Oh well at least it is in a good place. A lot of people are ramping up for Mid Ohio this week end, I was going, but instead will be hosting guests this week end. Anybody traveling to mid Ohio from the north ought to stop into Tony Packo's in Toledo for the best dogs in the world. Hey Klinger might be there.
