TRADE SHOW ~ SWAP MEET~BIKE SHOW~SEMINARS AND MORE 3/5/08 – 3/7/08
The VJMC is sponsoring the Japanese Day, at the 21st Annual Jerry Wood Auction, on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in Deland, Florida. This is a great time to gather up your extra Japanese Vintage parts, memorabilia and literature and have a vendor booth at the event.
One day is $26.63, or all three days for $53.25. All spots include 2 event passes – a $34 value.
Have a friend join you and split the cost. Set-up starts on Tuesday from 1:00pm to 6:00 pm.

I will be at Bike Week next year and would like to show some of my bikes. Who do I contact??? I would like to contact a VJMC member and show our bikes collectively. The event is sponsored by the VJMC and
the organization has the entire site, not
just a booth, for a whole day of Vintage
Japanese activities.
Hopefully, VJMC can put it all to use, with exhibitors,
rides, vendors, vintage Japanese motorcycle displays, etc.
ALL food concessions, for the Vintage Japanese
Day will be handled by Stetson University.
That is terrific news because it frees VJMC to focus
on motorcycles and their events only.
Plus, Stetson University, in Deland, Florida is just 21 miles West,
of Daytona Beach, on Route 92, and the 850,000 bikers who
will be in Daytona for the week. 850,000 motorcyclists!
It is a GREAT chance to have some of them ride over,
for at least part of the day, and see what VJMC is all about.
Because those folks are always looking for somewhere
to ride to - other than up and down the Daytona strip - it is a
tremendous opportunity.

Thanks for the info. I will call Paul. (Not a fan of Jerry Wood.) Bummer it is 21 miles away from the action. Too bad it isn't right at Daytona Beach somewhere but who am I to complain.

This is a great idea! Vintage Japanese Day
just 25 minutes from downtown Daytona Bike
Week 2008!
And it isn't a "bummer" at all!
We stay on the Daytona strip, at the Days Inn On The Beach,
with our HOG Chapter and you would NEVER EVER want
to actually try to cram an auction and Japanese gathering in that
area. Way too crowded, with nearly a million bikers
and friends.
Having it 25 minutes West, gives us a place
to ride and to stretch out our bikes. Makes
total sense. Idling up and down the strip, is a drag
now.
28 years ago, when we first attended in 1979,
it was different.
Jim and I will be riding our new Road Kings
over for sure. And we really enjoy the
Jerry Wood auctions. We attended the
auction the last three years and they have
always been very professional.

Stop by and see me on Wednesday. I will be working the VJMC booth and showing a bike or two. I believe the show and event are at Stenson University in Deland, Florida. Hey, Norm Smith is going to have a vintage ride that leaves at 9:30. Always a lot of fun with Norm. I can't wait! (Hmmmm, it is 2 degrees here in Michigan and 75 degrees in Florida. Point me south!)

we had a day out at the auction and vjmc show at deland and throughly enjoyed it.it was one of the best days of our daytona holiday.
i joined your vjmc there after speaking to the gent who was maning the table.this in turn has led me to this forum

Welcome, malc87. You will be an asset to our club and this forum. What bikes do you like and restore/ride?? I was one of the judges for the show, rode tail on the vintage ride, got interviewed on TV and got an autographed copy of a book that my bikes are featured in. It was one of the best days of my life!!! And.. of course, talked with many VJMC members who love the old vintage Jap classics. Found a friend Rich with a Kaw Z-1 and we went to the flat track races together. Bike Week was awesome for me. Here are some more pics of the day.

i was disappointed there was no kawasaki triple spares at the event.
im mainly into kawasaki triples having each model 750 all standard inc a nos H2C, also a h2c drag bike ,tony foale framed h2 a H1R 500, S1A 250 obviously american eagle A7"s as per my posts on the main forum , a samurai and have a meguro, some bridgestone 350"s, yamaha tz350, Z1Aand a nos norton commando.
do a bit of classic drag racing too

Doug Mitchels Classic Japanese Motorcycles. Cool Kaw triples! I have the 1972 H2 750 that needs a complete restoration. I just did an H1 500 last year for a guy. Man do they pull!!
