Still working on this bike. I'm trying to bypass the ignition switch until I can get a key made. Looking at this wiring diagram, it looks like if I wire in a toggle switch I should put the two white wires on one pole and the other four wires on the other, is that right?

I have only really done electrical work on Honda's before. The diagram is hard to follow, so can anyone clear up what the different color wires do? White looks to be from the battery, and red looks like the taillight, and ground looks to be yellow/black.

Not that you haven't looked, but have you checked out eBay lately for the key you need? I was surprised at how many people there are selling keys. I looked up the number on my ignition switch for my '70 H1 and someone had two of them. Might save you a lot of trouble. Just a thought. I had a '74 set up with an On-Off switch because I didn't have the key for it. I know it wasn't the reply you were looking for. Regards.

Hmmm...looking at the chart at the bottom of the page, doesn't look like y/b factors into the ignition switch.
