|
|
I am about to begin working on the rust in my CA 160 tank using Kreem and have a question about the best way to seal the top tank opening. The fuel crossover openings and petcock opening are easy as I used stoppers for the crossover tube openings and made a flat plate with a gasket to cover the petcock opening using the petcock mounting screw holes. What is the best method to seal the gas cap hole when sloshing the degreaser and tank etch product inside the tank. A large stopper won't work as there are two square notches 180 degrees apart for the tabs on the gas cap. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks |

| Put two layers of Saran wrap over the hole, then insert the cap. |

| Stop. Don't use Kreem. That stuff sucks. White milky crap that never hardens good and never evenly. Then flakes off in 5 years. Use POR15 US Tank Sealer or Eastwood product of the same type. There is beeter stuff out there than Kreem. |

the only reason to use a tank sealer is if you have leaks, and yes the POR15 is better than the Kreem but to just clean up a tank I like this method
