Has anybody used Rick's Custom Upholstery to restore/rebuild a seat?

We need a seat repair and noticed Rick's advertises regularly in the V.J.M.C. magazine, but we wondered if anybody has actually used their seat repair service in the past?

Thanks! Sherry hippy

Three weeks ago, we sent our Honda CL450 seat to Rick's
Custom Upholstery
. It came back to us today today, via UPS, and
we couldn't be more PLEASED.

I have attached some pictures of the returned seat .... just as it came out
of the shipping carton. There is no "Show Shine" or any other vinyl
treatment applied by us.

The original seat was worn with three rips in the vinyl
and the HONDA logo, on the back, was faded badly.

As you can see ..... it came back "Like New" and was
returned quickly. The three week time period included UPS
transport of the seat across the country, from Michigan,
to Oregon and then back to Michigan today.

Rick actually had the seat in his shop for around a week!

Thanks to Rick's and two thumbs up 2thubsup to a seat repair
company that answered the phone every time we called
and quickly repaired/returned our Vintage Japanese
motorcycle seat, in perfect condition!

Rick's installed a new cover on our seat because the bike may be
judged in the future by AMCA/VJMC judges. But he also repairs damaged covers,
if possible and requested by the customer.

Our seat foam was still original in color and pliable, so it remained ..... but Rick can
install new foam if needed.

Obviously, the cost differs for each seat due to type and the damage that
needs repair, etc.

Rick's did a great job for us and they support vintage Japanese motorcycle owners
by regularly advertising in the VJMC magazine. Most importantly, to us, was the facts that
they answered the phone every time we called .... AND they were FAST compared to
some of the nightmare experiences vintage bike restorers have related on
these forums, about other seat restorers.

Check out their website if your interested - ricksupholstery.net

I think I already did - he obviously doesn't want to tell us, for whatever reason.

Who cares what somebody else paid for their seat to be fixed?

It's really none of your business, what somebody else paid and your free to contact the
company yourself, right? SMI481 took the time to let us know about his experience,
took pictures for us to see and gave all the company contact information. Thanks!

Unless your seat is identical in type and needs the same exact repairs necessary, the price won't
be the same anyway.

At least we have the name of another seat rebuilder to consider.

Sheesh !!

Touchy, touchy, touchy.....

Must be top secret stuff, I guess.
Not like we're asking what your paycheck is or something........

We all realize it will vary with the project, we're not stupid.

By that logic it's none of our business what kind of job they did, either.

Going through same step now. Seat on Suzuki finally gave out after 35 years. I have brough it to a local guy but after seeing this I may change my mind. I was quoted 125.00 just to recover. Pan and foam are good. All I need is a new cover. Maybe I shoudl give them a shout.

That's really not a bad price, from what I've seen at different places - if the cover is high quality.

You guys tell em'!!! LOL- I recently had the seatcover replaced on my 3 wheeler. They even painted the seat pan for me. Not sure if I should or am allowed to tell ANYONE how much the guy charged me, but I'm willing to take my chances. It was the whopping sum of $15. Jack
