greetings to you all!

let me introduce myself on here:

Last fall I was give a free small Kawasaki 100cc bike which I believe it to be mid seventies or such. It was lying on its side in the orchard of a garden centre. My wife bought some plants and I caught the climpse of the bike. Since it has been like 37 years since I had one (250 GS PUCh) the old fever started again....

Ended up getting it for free as it was really a eyesore at the nursery. Over the winter I totally dismantled and polished and in the end painted it. It looks great but what is more: it started on second kick. Needless to say I was and still am trilled. But, and there is a but as with all old bikes out there. I want to make it a enduro version so I can use it on the road also.
I have seen the street/enduro version with the same MC prefix on the frame at the recycler but it was all in pieces to much missing and the lot owner has a certain amount of greed I dont care for.

I must point out that I just turned 65 and its time to ride again to dismay of all in my family hahahahahahaa. Besides, the little thing runs like a little rocket and I am cleaning bugs out my teeth this summer a lot.

As a new member I would like to ask if someone did the same to a KE 100 dirt bike? I was told some time ago by someone that if the KE or K 100 has a MC prefix on the frame ahead of the serial that it can be street legalized. Which brings on another question about the wiring, specificaly the wire colors on this particular model.

The harness has 5 wires with two of them connected only, hopefully this is an indication that remaining ones ( pink, grey, green) are for lighting!!

BLACK one is connected to the Coil

YELLOW to the kill switch trough its also Black wire

GREEN is looped to GREY

PINK is not connected to anything

With bike idling I did not detect any 12v at any wires as I grounded them to the frame, am I doing something wrong as in way of checking?

Still, would the above harness suggest that this little Kawi HAS a stator (or lighting coil) after all ???

first step is go here

http://www.cmsnl.com/kawasaki_model11368/http://www.cmsnl.com/kawasaki_model11368/

find your model and look over the magneto/generater fiche, find out if you have a lighting coil in your mag you would need it to have capability for 12v/lights

you won't get a 12v reading because its only a 6v system, they're really fun bikes though, have fun with it

Welcome! Sorry, I don't know much about your bike, but someone here will come along and be able to help. It's never too late to get back into biking, just remember, you're only as old as you feel. And as you ride around with a big grinn on your face, you probably feel 16 again!

...........Paul
