Hello everybody, I am new to this forum and recently got a Honda CJ360T 1977 that was stored in a basement for...30 years. I got it running yesterday but found out the petcock was leaking. I followed some advises and dismantled it, reversed the rubber seal but it still leaks. I am looking for a replacement but unfortunatly, it seems close to impossible to find specific informations about that model. Does anybody know from experience which model would be compatible? I refuse to think that it is a completly one of a kind petcock; some parts MUST be used in other models!
Thank you all for reading about my little problem. |

| I find my Honda dealership very helpful with my parts including the petcock. The trouble is that sometimes the Honda shop doesn't have all the replacement parts and I end up on e-Bay. The only model 360 that we haven't had is a CJ360. Is the petcock at least similar to the other 360s? |

I think I might have found what I was looking for. The CJ360 has a riveted (unservicable) petcock and therefore Honda does not supply replacement parts for it. I replaced the rivets by some screws and I will try fitting one gasket from another model and let you know if I am succefull. I dont think the petcock from the CB has the same shape.
Thanks for your reply. |

Good to hear that I don't have the only remaining CJ....
I am also looking for a new petcock, as mine needs to be set at a 45deg angle for "ON".
Keep us posted! |

Got it!
Check http://home.iprimus.com.au/ianfox/rebuild/rebuild.htm and order part #16955-268-020 from your Honda dealer. Fits right in. Just take care when drilling and taping your holes; after it is done, you are good to go.
I now have a short to investigate; will keep you posted. Thanks for reading! |
