We just returned home from Davenport, Iowa and the 2008 A.M.C.A.'s "Big One" vintage
motorcycle weekend.
It was GREAT to see that Japanese bikes are slowly creeping into the A.M.C.A. "mix" at their events.
While there are still many more Vincents, Norton's, Triumphs, BSA's, Harley's and Indians, (with $45,000+ price tags on
them), at A.M.C.A. events, lots of Japanese bikes .... for show and sale .... were scattered around
the entire State Fair site this year. And we found hundreds of original Owners and Shop manuals, for Japanese bikes,
laying in file drawers, with little attention being payed to them.
There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Japanese bikes here in America, that now
are "A.M.C.A. Legal" because they are 35+ years of age. And, January 1st, all 1974 vintage Japanese
bikes will be able to attend and enter A.M.C.A. Judged events, around the country.

Here are some more pictures ....
The volunteer, Civil Air Patrol Cadets, working the front gate reported they parked over 2,900 cars, with 11,000 spectators
coming into the show, either on foot or in cars, as of 5 pm yesterday Saturday, August 30, 2008.
Today, at 9 AM, Sunday, is the main judging of bikes 35 years of age and older.
