Plan now for the big event. Largest swap meet, AHRMA racing, motocross, road racing and trials, Parade lap around the track, bike shows, flat track friday night, demo rides of new bikes, bike auction. It is awesome! VJMC will have a setup in same spot on the infield so go over the bridge and take a right at the AMA tent. Stop and BS or bring a bike to show here.

Edit: This is now 2008 and the days are July 25-27. See you there.

Hey John it looks like myself and a friend will be showing up there but not on bikes. I'll try to
hook up with you all when I'm there

Oh Peter, How about 100 acres of swap meet area?!!! Vintage mx racing, Vintage road racing on the mid-ohio track, flat track racing down the road. vintage bike auction. Manufacturers in semis with huge displays. Go for a test ride on a brand new bmw, triumph, harley etc etc. camping and showers on site. Hard to get a room within 30 mi because 40k people will attend. It is a good idea to bring a moped or little bike/scooter to get around. Do you want to meet Gary Nixon? How about the "springer"? Hang out with Dr. Tom and listen to his CBX sing the SWEETEST song.

Anyone that needs a motel better book now. I always booked in January to make sure I got the place I liked. There is no better place for all-around vintage bike entertainment. If you haven't been, you need to go at least once.

I just got off the ph with Mid Ohio. The state of Ohio has imposed some camping rules that kinda screw things up. Limited tent camping,( a trailer is a tent) new camping area,(right next to the mx track Shocked ) Lots of DIRT and NO trees. One auto in the camp site. The regular camping area near the showers/toilets is now for workers only. If you camp you will have a nice 1.5 mi hike to the shower/shitter. Motorhomes will have track side spots in a restricted area. Go to midohio.com and have a look at the new site map. This blows as I had planned to camp this year and it is too late to get a hotel within reasonable distance. I better start looking for a buddy with a motorhome.

Mansfield Ohio. Close to Belleville Oh. I found a hotel yesterday after I posted. Knights Inn in Belleville might have a few left. I will be hoteling it since they took the good camping area away. Pull up the midohio site. I may trailer a bike or three down. There is a motorcycle museum 40 mi away also.

The camping mess stinks! Why do they have to keep changing it? Does the worker area include the AMA volunteers? What a bother!

John I think I'm going to trailer my 1100 with us because it's so close I'm going to ride up to
Monroe and see my cousins and aunts and uncles the last time I was there was in 1988 so it's
time for a short visit.

I'm not an hour from Monroe. Damn near due west in Manchester. Very nice hills and curves around me and NO traffic. Several other Fers and CBXers here too. Motnick, Swiftnick, Tom Strasser, JR Luksik and more. When you get your date and times in concrete we will make a plan, exchange ph nos, etc. Maybe drive down to Ohio in tandem. And have a few beers beer
cheers, John
