There is a wintergreen oil rejuvenation process that works quite well for air cleaner intake boots and other rubber parts. I used it for some of my TS250 stuff. Search on YouTube and you'll find it. I like to use a Uni-Syn for balancing the carbs. Works beautifully and you can also balance the carbs at partial throttle. https://www.amazon.com/Edelbrock-4025-Carburetor-Balancing-Instrument/dp/B00062YC2E. Good for twins, triples, and I even used it on my ZX-6R which essentially has four downdraft carbs.
I'm pretty sure your bike has removable exhaust baffles. If so, they might benefit from a cleaning. If you have them they will be held in by a small screw or bolt that you access through a small hole at the bottom of the back of the muffler. _________________ Currently - 75 Suz TS250, 02 Kaw ZX-6R

I'm not sure what that means but
have you noted the numbers on all the parts so you know 'where you are at'.......for future reference, if nothing else.
