I have always found it a pain to work with old rock hard CT90 air cleaner boots, so I spent some time on the web looking at different methods to restore and soften old rubber parts and found one that has worked well for me. I made a post at my CT90 blog on the method I ended up using along with a video to share the results I obtained. I have included a link to my post here:Restoring old rubber CT90 parts; A link to the video I made on YouTube can be found at my post and here: YouTube Video on CT90 Rubber Softening. I hope this info is useful to others.

I did this a few years ago and it worked good enough for me to use the original carb to air box tube on my 66 CT-90. I used some wintergreen oil and the yard smelled good for a while afterwards but, someone stole my Trail 90s off my lawn which ruined my plans for the 66. _________________ Ray #1
