Some of you will remember my sharing recently that my wife and best friend of more than 44 years had slipped quietly away after a more than 2 year cancer battle. 24 days on and things are still very raw how-ever in keeping with her positive view of life some plans are taking shape. I am privileged to have access to untold miles and miles of isolated, spectacular, sub-alpine high country in various parts of our country. I also have several motorcycling friends who are in that twilight stage of entering retirement years but still being reasonably fit. We all ride and all have terrain busting weapons in our fleets. In my case a wonderful DR650 Suzuki trail and an XL700V Transalp Adventure bike.
In line with this reflective post loss part of my journey I can see the appeal in multi day adventures puttering at low impact through the spectacular tracks of our high country. Accomodation in local pubs, riding in short stretches with lots of stops to share stories, and reflect.
I've found a really good condition CT110 Honda with Hi-Low box and see it as ideal for what is planned. Working on several friends to find themselves similar bikes, which unfortunately are no longer sold new in New Zealand. So ...in a few months our latest Wild Hogs adventure will take place, on CT110 Hondas, can't wait!

Sounds like a plan. Good times should be had by all....just don't get into the 'rooting' habits of your groups namesake........

Greetings Russell, thanks so much for keeping in touch. Your adventures plan sounds like the perfect way to step back and get a healthy new perspective on this stage of life. I hope we get to see some pictures one day.
